This Beistle tutu tally was produced during the 1930-1931 interval. There were two designs sold as a set. The odd thing is that when one of the two is offered for sale, which doesn’t happen often, it is invariably this sunflower design, not the other design. (You can see the other design on page 223.) Weird, huh? This example being offered for auction is pretty darn nice. The seller is too!

It is great to see one of the very elusive Beistle tutu tallies being offered, especially by this fine seller. Beistle produced two tutu tally designs in 1930-1931 and sold them as a set. Oddly, this is the one that surfaces more regularly than the other. You can see both designs by turning to page 223.
Over the last few years, the very few times this Beistle tutu tally or its mate shown on page 218 have surfaced, the frenzy surrounding them results in very strong results. Again, if you take out the top two bidders, the price therefore resulting, $285, is probably the more sustainable one. When I wrote my second edition in 2007, I assigned a price for the pair at $225. Given the prices fetched for these over the last 4 or so years, I think a realistic price for the pair is around $575-650, showing just how strong the market has become for early Beistle paper.
