Vintage Halloween Decorations Witches Cats Pumpkins

These two shades are the first iterations of shades produced by Beistle as early as 1918 as part of their first party sets. The sets produced prior to 1923 were made in smaller quantities, hence pieces from these sets, especially these large shades, surface far less often than pieces from the 1923 fairy-themed sets produced in booklet, boxed and enveloped forms in near-shocking quantities.

These shades are early and rare. (I’ve never seen any of these before.) Looking at the tops gives one the first clue as to just how early these are. The simplicity of the designs is the second clue. The metal rivets used is the third. These are pretty darn sweet!

Vintage Halloween Attic Find

I wish I would have seen this lot offered at the extremely low BIN price of $159. Kudos to the fast mover. The two shades intrigue me. They look like Whitney, but I haven't seen other shades manufactured by Whitney, so they are surely Gibson.
