EXCEEDINGLY RARE Antique Vintage Halloween Diecut Set In Box NOS Germany

What a great listing! You rarely see the box many German diecuts were sold in, so this is a treat. The typical idea is what you see on the lid would be inside. Voila! Except for the JOL, the contents shown in the photos appear correct and complete. I have a box identically sized with identical lid imagery in the collection but the number at the bottom center of the lid is different. (It is also only three digits.) I’d love to know how these numbers were assigned. It will be fun to see what this listing brings!

09/02 Update: The seller definitely didn’t do themselves any favors by having this listing end during a long weekend holiday. It brought $1,680.51, significantly less than I expected. The prevailing bidder is a newish collector who has excellent taste. Congratulations, SH!

2 Vintage Halloween Decorations Witch & Bat Made in Germany Cardboard Die Cut

This was a solid score. Happily, good friends of mine snagged this pair of German diecuts. The sustainable guide value for the bat alone is $150. It always amazes me when sellers list something as a BIN without any knowledge of what they are selling. It reminds me of one of my favorite sayings: "The sum of the intelligence of the planet is a constant. The population is growing."

Halloween Candy Container Lantern Pear Head Papier Mache 8" tall

This is one of the finer German lantern/candy container combos I've seen listed on Ebay for many moons. The styling and detailed compo work epitomizes the height of German artistry. Given the slummy nature of Ebay of late, I feel this was the wrong venue on which to list this super item. As you can see, it fetched a mere fraction of what I feel it would have brought at an auction house like Morphy's. The lucky buyer got a steal.

Original Scarce 1920s Black Boy on a JOL Halloween Candy Container Germany NM

There were at least six containers comprising this set of characters emerging from a JOL. (I have all of them in my collection.) In addition to this very desirable boy, others in the set include a sailor, a bellhop, a JOL-headed boy, a straw hat-wearing JOL teen and a schoolboy. The latter one has a movable head. I have been on a long quest to find others. The seller of this candy container is as honest as the summer days are long. I am proud to have him on my site's list of those with whom I like to do business.

04/24 Update: I am glad to see this cute candy container brought nearly $400.00.
