A long-time reader sent me an email wanting me to confirm this devil is not a vintage item. I so confirm. These soulless space-takers started polluting the hobby in 1995. This was produced sometime during or anytime after that year. It has decorative value only, perhaps $20-25, well below the $1500 the optimistic seller has as a BIN.

1930 GERMAN HALLOWEEN CARDBOARD TIN HORN WHISTLE NOISEMAKER SCARY FAIRY TALES
I suspect this item is a recently made fantasy piece. The graphics are unknown and don’t correspond to anything I’ve seen on unquestionably genuine German horns. Look at the only photo the seller provided of the horn’s interior. Although the bottom rim is splotchy, the interior is pristine and is constructed differently than any unquestionably genuine German horn I’ve seen. This reeks of a recently made fantasy item.

Rare German Vintage Composition Halloween Skeleton Candy Container 3 3/4" Tall
This is not a vintage item, except as with the comment below, you feel a creation date of no earlier than the mid-1990s qualifies a seller to use that word. This item is merely one small part of the avalanche of items made in Germany and imported into the U.S. to take advantage of the significant rise in prices of truly vintage German candy containers and figurals that occurred beginning in the mid-1990s. This is actually part of the second wave that began assaulting our shores in the early 2000s. There are no truly vintage counterparts. There isn't a single instance where these are shown to exist in any printed material prior to 2000. The seller's protestations to the contrary, this isn't old. It is merely a pleasant decorative object that someday may have collectible value.
VINTAGE HALLOWEEN GERMAN DEVIL HEAD CANDY CONTAINER
It is too bad that this seller, who has been offering solid items for too-low BIN prices, is offering this item. This is one of the best known fantasy pieces that began washing ashore in the mid-1990s as truly vintage Halloween candy containers and other composition items were rapidly escalating in price. These typically are offered without a bottom, but the presence or absence of a bottom indicates nothing. There are no vintage counterparts to this well-done fake, making it, more precisely, a fantasy piece. As such, it possesses modest decorative value, about one-tenth of what this seller hopes to get.
Rare German Vintage Composition Halloween Devil in a Pumpkin Candy Container 5"
I don't feel that any of the Halloween items this seller has listed currently are truly vintage items. All of them seem to be of the ilk of items made in Germany but imported to the USA in the last 20 years. I would approach purchasing these items with great caution. I appreciate the fact that the seller has a 14 day return policy.
Vintage Style 1930s Flaming-Red Devil Halloween Lantern (Composition)
I am amazed at how much artistic skill others have! Why was I so shorted? :) I rarely comment on newly made items in this space, but I am impressed with this wonderful devil head lantern. It's obvious that it is well-made and would be able to hold its own amongst many vintage items. I don't know the artist but wish him/her much success.
