Vintage Halloween RARE Beistle Paper Candy Basket w/ early images c. 1921 4.5"H

OK, this is one of the rarest Halloween items in the finest condition that has appeared on eBay in quite some time. Beistle produced this basket for the 1921 season. I’ve seen these from time to time but always folded and generally in tatty condition. (I mean, they’re 100 years old and weren’t designed for longevity.) This is a star listing - a true joy to stumble upon given all the crap one has to wade through on eBay since they collapsed the holiday categories. The last one sold for either right under or right over $1000 with no comparison for condition. Bidders - start your engines!

10/04 Update: This sold for a phenomenal $1,402.77!

Halloween Beistle Rare Antique Nut Candy Basket 1920 Witch Ghost Cat Owl Bats

It is nice to see a true gem amongst the many listings. This early Beistle creation is among the very first items that began to firmly set their iconography. As I write on page 51, "This delicate basket has virtually all of the early, iconic imagery associated with Beistle. Made at the beginning of their golden age, this light cardboard candy basket has a trio of seated black cats and two flying bats on one of the other sides and a witch with a broom on her shoulder, two flying bats and a pine tree (odd...) in the background on the remaining side." SGV is $325, but one hasn't come available in some time, so it will be fun to see where this ends.

09/25 Update: The answer is known! This ended at a completely unsustainable price of $687.99.

Vintage Halloween Rare 1925 Beistle Witch/ Cauldron/JOL Honeycomb Basket- LOOK!!

It is such a pleasant surprise to see an exceedingly rare Beistle item on the rather sad selling platform that Ebay has become. (This decay began when their management chose to compete with Amazon rather than focusing on cultivating sellers of rare, vintage goods.) This favor basket was sold from 1927-1931. Beistle made four different designs, all measuring ~4" x ~4". All of them have an RSIN of 2. The condition issues on this example could be easily rectified by a careful, competent paper restorer. (I can recommend ACA Paper Restoration in Devon, PA.) These baskets almost never become available for sale, so it'll be fun to see what this brings.

03/09 Update: Whomever was the prevailing bidder received a true bargain, snatching this up for less than $160. Bravo!
