Lot 96                  1923 Beistle Fairy Honeycomb Band Hat (BOOK ITEM)
Beistle produced all four fairy honeycomb band hat designs in a single season, 1923. Each of the designs is exceedingly rare. This design shows a fairy being pulled along in her pumpkin coach by a none-too-happy black cat. The reverse shows four cavorting fairies. There is minor wear to the band hat, especially at the ends. There is a small bit of surface paper loss at the back left bottom. The colors are bright. The interior orange and black honeycomb is perfect. It measures ~6.5” high by ~11.5” across. This is the very item photographed for my reference books and appearing on page 240 of the third edition. This entered the collection on June 25, 2003. The buyer will receive a handwritten note on my personal Halloween stationery attesting to this provenance.
