Lot 88                1927–1931 Beistle Scared Black Cat Favor Basket
This small favor basket was produced by Beistle from 1927 through 1931. It is one of a set of four designs. This one shows a scared black cat clutching a JOL. The artwork is identical on both sides, just reversed. It measures ~4” high by ~4” diameter. The condition is very fine, one of the best I’ve seen, as these favor baskets are often seriously creased or torn with the interlocking cardboard tabs ripped or very soft. The only notable condition issue to flag is that some of the honeycomb top tips are not perfect. The colors are bright, the honeycomb is nearly perfect, the tabs are both present and strong and there is no extraneous writing present.
