Lot 22                  1950s Kirchhof Cats and JOL Tambourine (BOOK ITEM)
This tambourine was produced during the 1950s by Kirchhof under their Life of the Party product line. It shows two cats scampering about a JOL. A friendly vibe prevails. The white background is unusual. It measures ~6” in diameter. All cymbals are present. The rim is undecorated. There is next to no surface dimpling. There is faint orangish coloration to either side of the main image. It looks like it could be color application overspray from the factory. (It does look worse in the photos than it appears to the eye.) This is the very item photographed for my reference books and appearing on page 214 of the third edition. This entered the collection on February 27, 1999. The buyer will receive a handwritten note on my personal Halloween stationery attesting to this provenance.
