Lot 10 1930s Bugle Toy Horn (BOOK ITEM)
Bugle Toy produced this lithoed-paper-over-cardboard horn during the early 1930s. It stands ~6.5” high. The blue mouthpiece no longer produces sound. The colors are bright and bold. Many of these horns began life as a spindle in a textile factory. Before being converted into a great Halloween horn, it lived at the American Thread Company in Newnan, Georgia, as evidenced by the label inside the horn. This is the very item photographed for my reference book, appearing on page 209 of the third edition. This entered the collection on September 4, 2008. The buyer will receive a handwritten note on my personal Halloween stationery attesting to this provenance.
