2667 1920s Beistle Pumpkin Head Garland
Beistle first produced their Pumpkin Head Garlands beginning in about 1919. From what I can piece together, the first one or two seasons’ output was printed primarily on one side. They largely abandoned producing these one-sided garlands pretty quickly. The number of graduated pumpkin heads comprising a garland varied from a low of seven to a high of thirteen. This is a dual-sided garland comprised of seven pumpkin heads or JOLs. (Beistle, being so clever, used this same art for their Johnny Pumpkin line.) All of the fasteners are original. One area has tape and there is some surface paper loss here and there. These garlands are now rarely seen. This is the first one I’ve had to offer for decades. The garland measures ~39” long. The largest JOL measures ~7” high by ~7” across.
