25191                1930s Unused Invitation with Sprites Tending a Cauldron
This invitation was produced during the early 1930s by a manufacturer unknown to me. (It may be American Colortype.) The imagery is unusual – two sprites (or elves or pixies…) are tending a cauldron. Bats circle. The reverse has more traditional iconography: JOLs and an arched-back black cat. The item measures ~2.5” high by ~4” across, closed. There is toning to the interior.
