25160                1930s Kirchhof Tin Litho Tambourine with Devils
This tin tambourine was produced during the 1930s. Although not marked, I am confident attributing this tam to Kirchhof. Kirchhof and Dennison had an arrangement under which Kirchhof had permission to use Dennison art in their litho designs. The tam measures ~6.25” in diameter. All original clangers are extant. This tam has seen action. There is general surface wear. A dent to the rim beginning above the large devil’s left-most ear left a paper-thin separation to the litho through which light can be seen. (See second photo.) It is completely stable. I only noticed it when reviewing the photos.
