Lot 98                1920s German JOL Witch Diecut (Variant)
This heavily embossed diecut was made in Germany during the 1920s. It measures ~7.25” high by ~3.75” wide. This is a variant I haven’t seen too often. The teeth are orange rather than white and the hat’s feather is orange rather than black. Also, the stars at the hem are larger than the typical version. This is in near-mint condition with no extraneous pinholes and the faux shading the Germans sometimes used wherein the colors are brighter on one side than the other. (The effect is minor on the diecut, but I point it out to reassure that the somewhat lighter left side coloration is not because of fading.)
