Lot 83                1920s Hallowe’en Window Card
This well-designed window card was produced during the 1920s, probably by Whitney. There were just a few designs released. This one always has struck me as rather poignant. The young lad is scurrying along outdoors carrying a JOL. The inside of the card shows what he is imagining – a group of five ghosts. The sentiment in the card is fitting: “I’m not afraid of ghosts and things But just the same – I wish I’d wings –“ The card measures ~4.25” high by ~3” wide, closed.
