Lot 73                1930s Small USA Pulp JOL by F.N. Burt
This pulp JOL with all-closed features was produced during the 1930s by F.N. Burt. It was meant to be simply a decorative table-top decoration. There is a tin bottom plug. The question I had for one of my pulp expert friends was whether the eyes/nose/mouth were painted at the factory or by an end-user. Her opinion was that it was done at the factory. Although I agree, you can make up your own mind. What I do know is that this is quite rare, especially with the tin bottom closure. It is small, measuring ~3.75” high by ~4” across. (All measurements exclude the bale, if present.)
