Lot 103 '20s Compo Girl Nodder Pulling Pumpkin House Candy Container (BOOK ITEM) **
This composition candy container of a JOL-headed girl pulling a pumpkin house was made in Germany during the 1920s. The Germans produced a small number of these unusual designs. This one is more complex than others I’ve seen in that the head of the girl is on a flexible metal strip making it a nodder as well as a candy container. It measures ~3.5” high by ~3.5” long, opens at the bottom and is in near-mint or better condition. This is the very candy container/nodder photographed for my third edition. It appears on page 72. It entered my collection on April 2, 2007. The prevailing bidder will receive a handwritten note on my personal Halloween stationary attesting to this provenance.
